How to use Edit PDF

  1. Open your PDF. It stays on your device and is never uploaded.
  2. Pick a tool on the left – Text, Draw, Highlight, Shapes, Image, Signature or Stamps – and click or drag on the page. Select any object to change its colour, size, rotation and opacity.
  3. Use the Pages panel to reorder, rotate, duplicate, delete, crop or insert pages, and Form filling for fillable PDFs.
  4. Press Download PDF and choose Standard or Flattened. Your original file is never changed.

About this tool

FILEZY's editor works like a transparent layer on top of your PDF. Text boxes, drawings, shapes, images, signatures and stamps are added as new content on each page, and highlights, underlines, notes and links are saved as real PDF annotations. The pages of the original document are kept as they are: text stays selectable and graphics stay sharp, because the exported file is built from your original PDF rather than from screenshots.

Adding text is different from rewriting the original text. The editor does not change words that are already in the document – to correct existing text, cover it with the whiteout tool and type the new text on top, or edit the source document. Search finds text in PDFs that contain real text; scanned documents need OCR, which FILEZY does not offer.

You can export a Standard PDF (annotations and form fields stay as real PDF elements) or a Flattened PDF (everything is merged into the page so it can no longer be edited).

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The editor runs entirely in your browser. Your PDF, images and signatures are never sent to FILEZY or to any third party.

Can I edit the existing text in my PDF?

Not directly. You can add new text on top, and cover old text with a whiteout box, but the original text of the PDF is not rewritten. The editor tells you this clearly so there are no surprises.

Is the whiteout tool secure redaction?

No. It only covers content with a box. The original text or image remains in the file and can be recovered, so do not use it to hide confidential information.

Is the signature legally binding?

The editor adds a visual electronic signature – a picture of your signature. It is not a certified digital signature. Whether it is accepted depends on the document and the people you share it with.

Can I fill in PDF forms?

Yes. If the PDF contains interactive form fields you can fill them in on the page or in the Form filling panel. For flat forms without fields, type over them with the Text tool or add ticks and crosses.

Why can't I search my scanned PDF?

Scanned PDFs are pictures of pages without real text. FILEZY does not include OCR (text recognition), so text search only works on PDFs that contain real text.

What is the difference between Standard and Flattened export?

Standard keeps highlights, underlines, notes, links and form fields as real PDF elements. Flattened merges everything into the page content so it cannot be changed afterwards.
